Like every year 2019 began with the Wallpaper Design Awards, the prestigious prizes presented by the eponymous magazine to brands, designers and names from all over the world who stood out from the pack in their respective fields the previous year for their inventiveness, audacity, innovation and determination in proposing unique ideas.
The difficult task of choosing the winners fell to high-profile figures like Paola Antonelli, curator of Architecture and Design at MoMA; Bjarke Ingels, archi-star and founder of BIG; Philippe Malouin, Wallpaper’s Designer of the Year for 2018; Korean artist Do Ho Suh; scenic designer David Korins; and finally Buffalo Girl, an iconic personality in the world of style.
