Traccia Simon Collection – Coffee table

Traccia is a coffee table by Meret Oppenheim for the Simon by Cassina brand. Eccentric and cheeky, it is a reproduction of the Surrealist model, Table with bird legs of 1939, changing the footprints on the surface to those of an exotic bird.
Traccia is part of the Ultramobile Collection commissioned by Dino Gavina for Simon. The elliptical top of this coffee table has a shaped edge, with the prints of an exotic bird impressed on it, the same bird that inspired the cast bronze feet of the renowned Table with bird legs sculpture. The top is made of 24-carat pure gold leaf, the undersurface is treated with gold-coloured pigmented varnish. Works of art that become collectors’ items.
