Plan and arrange for the intended uses.

The ideal requirements to start working on and defining the soul of a completely anonymous and empty building without character are time, drawings, proposals, painstaking research and agreement with the future owner, a real estate agent. All the elements that will make up not only the structure of the house, but also its soul, are studied along with the customer. It is important to plan and define the intended uses, individual finishes and furniture, together with the colours and materials so that each element becomes the star of a choral scene with a common, continuous motif. Understated good taste that is perceived throughout and at all times. In the project for the house in a town in the Cavallina Valley thirty kilometres from Bergamo, Zenucchi Design Code, in collaboration with Immobiliare Cortesi from Casazza, has achieved a result with clean lines and a simple and essential appearance obtained with incisive, but attentive and balanced interventions. The two levels of the home, the end unit of a residential building, are characterised from the outset by the brightness and the two-tone contrast between light and dark, cold and warm colours. Light arrives during the day from the large longitudinal and vertical openings that run along the walls, and at night from the recessed spotlights and their light beams that criss-cross orthogonally. From the light-coloured surfaces, including the oak parquet used for the flooring, emerge the  linear mocha-coloured volumes of the lacquered seats and furniture, that play with a mix of glossy and matt. Wall cabinets, small tables, footstool, armchair and sofa have been chosen to ensure comfort and practicality, but also to follow the most popular and current design trends in a responsible way.

With a cheerful and ironic look, an ideal order and visual harmony.

The impact of the rooms, albeit crossed by surfaces and lines arranged in a geometric way, is mellow and welcoming thanks to architectural and aesthetic expedients such as the portion of wall in glass cement, the large white vases and the soft wavy curtains, punctuated by ruching near the rods. The full-wall kitchen re-proposes the light accents dotted throughout the entire house, with an alternation between aluminium and glossy white lacquer used for the wall-system back panel, large extraction hood, worktop, cabinets and drawers. The glass table, which matches the linearity and elegance of the entire room in a neutral, yet refined, way completes the dining area. The Calacatta white marble staircase, worked at an angle of 45°, with steel banister, leads to the second level. Here, a short corridor leads to the sleeping area, the bathrooms and the two children’s bedrooms where, to downplay the tones, Zenucchi has proposed bright, bold colours for the walls. Bright pink and green are matched with furniture and accessories in the same colour range to maintain an ideal order and visual harmony for a cheerful and ironic look.
