The house museum

As you climb back up the hills of Bergamo, this house bursting with character looms up in an evocative location among the lush greenery. Walking up the extremely modern stone steps towards the front door, you immediately get the feeling you are about to enter a contemporary art museum where the forms and architectures of modern and ancient design history come back to life and, for those passionate about architecture, make the hairs on the back of your neck stand up. Stemming from the collaboration of two professionals, architect Alberto Bertasa and Laura Beretta, the project is a fascinating example of cutting-edge architecture which, while making use of contemporary technologies and materials, also employs a series of interior design solutions developed by the Zenucchi Arredamenti team which soften the spaces of the home.

Wood, stone and glass, the lexicon of the house, are also found in the interiors, albeit in alternation with various notable designer details. The big fabric sofa, just like the pouf and rug or even the Vitra lounge chair and ottoman, are all elements which as well as stylishly furnishing the home also create timeless environments in the villa, ensuring its inhabitants feel at home. The staircase, made from concrete with stairs in Cabreuva wood, is the heart of the home and has particular architectural and emotional value. The contrast between the cold white of the concrete and the warm Brazilian wood adds a touch of extreme beauty to the entire structure. But there are also plenty of surprises in the night-time area. The dialogue continues, between the bedroom and the bathrooms, with a series of exclusive solutions for the wellbeing of the owners. For moments of pure indulgence, the bathrooms (all Boffi) are the ne plus ultra of a life of comfort and pampering. An increasingly important aspect given the frenetic lives that we lead. And fundamental not only for the body but also for the soul and the art of life.
