A flat with a strong character.
Mustard. A difficult colour to contextualise, but one that finds its rightful declination in the warm, bright palettes of this home. Its pigment mixes with the colour of the wood and completes the space, defining its soul. This is the colour chosen by Zenucchi Design Code for the Panton Chairs by Vitra, alongside the natural oak E 15 table, Lillie model. The pair of seats, famous for their characteristic sinuous shape, made from a single mould, were matched with the rigid shape of the wooden table and bench E 15 Calle model, also in oak. These are all elements that perfectly complement the natural colour of the floor, but contrast with the whiteness and purity of the essential lines of the Varenna kitchen. A deliberate combination to give character and personality to each individual piece of furniture.
An interplay of colours and shapes.
The skill of the Zenucchi Design Code design staff has also cleverly combined the choice of Kiton models for the tall units and Alea for the base units, making the image uniform with the matt white lacquered finish. The result of this interplay of colours and shapes creates and enhances the intensity of the light in the elegant, modern, yet relaxing spaces. A pleasant feeling that reverberates, like an echo, in the other rooms of the house. The long, narrow corridors, lined by white walls, are interrupted here and there by the vertical cuts in smoked glass of Rimadesio’s doors; while Lualdi’s doors, flush with the wall, promote the visual continuity of the space. The rooms inside can be glimpsed through the glass. The run pattern laying of the wood floor lead us into a bathroom in which the shower tiling and the cortex brown marble top stand out. In the other bathroom, on the other hand, it is the warmth of the furniture combined with the Liquid series taps, by Boffi, that gives the right continuity to the blade of light that pervades the house. What do you think? Exclaims white letters on the red background of a picture hanging in the kitchen, as if to question the emotions experienced. Elegance, tranquillity, pleasant surroundings! These are the words that describe these spaces. The juxtaposition of the furniture, the choice of colours, enhanced by the beams of light flooding the rooms, have resulted in the creation of a unique, extremely sophisticated scenario in which light plays a key role. It is difficult to tear ourselves away from this feeling of well-being, close the door behind us, and return to the chaos of the city.
