Our aim was to keep what was good and to create fresh solutions and vibes to give the home a new feel

Every home has its own story and the task of architects and interior designers is to create spaces tailored to the lives of the inhabitants. The couple that own this home are passionate about art and collectors of contemporary Italian and international pieces dating back to the 1950s.

“Art played a key role in the design of the interiors – explain the Zenucchi team, which carried out the restyling project in support of architects Dep Studio – and it was very interesting to create solutions that exalted the collections to the max”. The owners wanted to modernise their home, a 3-storey house in the province of Bergamo. “Our aim was to keep what was good and to create fresh solutions and vibes to give the home a new feel”.

Timeless design objects and madetomeasure elements dialogue with the works.

The existing parquet was cleaned and polished while a split face stone floor was laid in the basement. The works of art were positioned in strategic places in both the daytime area and the basement room.
The lighting, particularly in the basement, was studied and designed to showcase the works of art and create a space reminiscent of a gallery. Timeless design objects and made-to-measure elements dialogue with the works. More specifically, the daytime area is home to Cassina tables, a Porro television wall and a Saarinen marble table. The custom-made cabinet designed by Dep Studio is also very striking. The design of the day area is echoed in the basement with the Cassina sofa and Vitra armchair. The billiards table is the perfect addition to this beautiful and fun-loving space.
