Beauty is a series of perfect details.

The original structure has been substantially maintained, designing the ground floor as an airy open space that draws brightness from the large glass wall opening onto a small patio furnished with Dedon’s Barcelona armchairs and table. Inside, Boffi’s large LT kitchen in dark oak and absolute black granite, chosen for its special feature of being concealed, turns into a fascinating piece of design furniture when closed. The beautiful natural antique terracotta floors have been recovered through the painstaking research work of the owners who believe in beauty also as a series of perfect details. It was therefore important to highlight these through the transparency of the crystal table top, whose steel structure recalls that of the kitchen and is made warmer by the white Vittoria armchairs by Frau. Hi-tech design is also found in the Barcelona chaise longue by Mies van der Rohe for Knoll, again chosen in shades of white, as is Cassina’s leather sofa in the living room, which appears to float as if on a cloud, resting on white wool and linen rugs, like Cappellini’s coffee table. The antique pieces of furniture that belonged to the family, which fit harmoniously into the environment, are a dark contrast to all this white. The sleeping area with its warm, soft sandy colours is accessed from the straight sandstone staircase with unusual and interesting recessed spotlights in the stairnosing. In the master bedroom, the space is dedicated to the large Lord leather bed and the Lyra armchairs by Frau.

A farmhouse nestling in the peace and quiet of the hills.

The wardrobe expands to become the very spacious cabin in wenge, a wood that we also find in the second room, with the white leather bed and elegant low dark cabinet by Zenucchi, the company that also supplies the natural oak furniture of the two bathrooms. The bathrooms, while having the same clean line sanitary ware, panoramic mirrors and accessories from the Boffi line, as well as the furniture, have floors of different materials: the master bathroom uses the same wood as the furniture and its strong point is the raised bathtub; the other, in porcelain, has an amazing shower with a wall of finely crafted mosaic tiles. Craftsmanship combined with creative flair also characterise the workmanship of all the lamps and wall appliques in the house. In the basement there are two spaces: the dining area, in which the large Cappellini table is complemented by Frau’s Lola armchairs, and the wenge kitchen, whose white goods such as the large refrigerator with ice dispenser and the steel extractor hood are customised and adapted to the client’s needs. We take our leave, not before admiring the pool located in front of the entrance patio, complemented by Dedon’s Tango chaises longues. Beyond the edge, on the horizon, the Valcalepio valley bursting with life stands out, but it is really hard to imagine it, immersed in the peace and quiet of the hills.
