Shapes and surfaces with distinctive and characteristic features

Materiality, a term that recalls the expressive function of material as such, is the leitmotif of this elegant project. Raw material used in its primary components, moulded to achieve the result imagined in the design phase, through handcrafted processes performed to a design, capable of obtaining shapes and surfaces with distinctive and characteristic features. The choice falls on pure materials such as wood, stone and iron, and artificial ones such as concrete and Corian®, conceived in such a way as to enhance their corporeity in an active and autonomous way, through a refined manufacturing process. The result is an amalgam of essential products, whose appearance stems from the uniqueness of the treatment and the “bare” expression of the material of which they are made. Cement resin is used to highlight the spaciousness of the rooms, creating floors and covering walls with surprising surfaces that enhance natural light with innovative colour plays. Fine wood, stone elements and metal cladding are used for the furniture, with colour combinations that change according to the light, enhancing the materiality of the outer “shell”.

Living takes on a modern significance, rooted in the traditional nature of raw materials.

The result is a strong compositional unity from which living gains a modern value, rooted in the traditional nature of the raw materials. This feeling is perceived right from the entrance, where we are greeted by a waxed sheet iron bookcase set against an ice-coloured lacquered wardrobe. In the living room, there is a large and dramatic fireplace with a Cardoso stone base and metal-clad hood. In the centre there is a large table with a glass top; against the wall there is lacquered mocha-coloured oak furniture with granite back. In the kitchen, an island equipped with white lacquered storage units and a shaped Corian® top, a precious material in terms of its malleability and durability, matches the nature of the surrounding material. The final effect is completed by the lighting design that makes use of spotlights and wall appliqués to better manage the artificial light, which is targeted and never invasive.
