Matching modern furniture with antique style.
Among the various meanings of the verb “conjugate”, hence “conjugation”, the dictionary gives the meaning of “to tune, combine, reconcile, unite”, thus meaning, to bind two or more components together. This lexical interpretation is perfectly suited to the project undertaken and completed by the Zenucchi Arredamenti staff for the renovation of an attic floor, owned by a good-natured and elegant lady. The starting point was the need to match new products with a modern look with the customers’ existing furniture, some of which were antique in style; that is, it was necessary to integrate past and present, combining spaces and accessories in an elegant and very bright environment. A difficult goal? Perhaps, but certainly not impossible, thanks to the professionalism and experience of Zenucchi’s interior designers.
White prevails and the compositions are orderly in this attic flat.
The attic flat, with exposed beams, was plastered all in white and finished with oak parquet. Located on the top floor, the light flows in from windows of various sizes, as well as from the sunny terrace, which, tastefully furnished as a living room, is a natural continuation of the interior. The living area is organised as an open space, while the sleeping area is more intimate and private. In this type of interior, the furniture combines the existing with the new, constantly favouring the colour white and creating orderly compositions. In the living area, the leather sofa and armchair encounter the charm and amber colour of the antique wooden furniture, while the modern volumes and lines of the nearby kitchen give a nod to the contemporary, also with designer table and chairs. Fine, colourful rugs delimit the spaces on the floor in the living room as well as in the private bedrooms, where the atmosphere is even more sophisticated, embellished by the dim light of the abat-jours and the delicate linens that dress the beds and coffee tables. Finally, while made-to-measure wardrobes, large and small storage units along with flush doors meet current needs, an antique desk recalls the past and memories.
