Zenucchi Design Code

Zenucchi rewrites the contemporary history of a 1950s family home, leaving the new owners the pleasure of living and filling the new habitat with emotions.

The starting point is a 1950s family home with its imprinting, its memories still in the air but at the same time the desire to turn the page and write a new intense and evocative plot, full of details that can make everyday life tailored to the needs of its residents. After years of a fruitful working relationship, based on strong mutual respect, the client has thus confidently entrusted the transformation of this home to Zenucchi Design Code, giving it carte blanche to redesign a house that fully reflects the owners’ needs and personal taste. All this has resulted in a renovation project with great creative freedom, fulfilling the request for a modern, original, and functional house for two people. The contemporary and distinctive design is evident, as is the use of natural materials capable of conveying warmth, authenticity, and a sense of continuity with tradition, which have marked this renovation, making it high-performance and significant. Walnut wood, with its rich texture and warm shades, was chosen to enrich the interiors and give a sense of intimacy and welcome to the living spaces, in contrast with the modernity of the architectural lines.

Ceppo di Gre, walnut and colour to warm the house

This noble wood, used in particular for floors and ceilings,

creates a visual and tactile continuum that connects the various rooms of the house. Ceppo di Gré®, on the other hand, with its grey tones and irregular grain, was used for cladding and structural details, but also for the bathrooms, the wainscoting in the living room and near the TV in the master bedroom, and also for the kitchen top, giving the room an energetic but elegant character. This material, typical of Lombard architecture, has the advantage of integrating harmoniously with the context, resulting at the same time refined and familiar. Another distinctive element, masterfully used, is raw iron, to create structural and decorative details such as the wainscoting of the TV area, the headboard of the bed and the pivot door leading to the sleeping area – integrated into the wainscoting –; this material adds an industrial and contemporary touch to the home. These natural and untreated surfaces dialogue perfectly with the other materials, creating a visual and tactile contrast that makes the space dynamic and interesting. There are also plenty of design elements that rhyme perfectly with the custom-made ones, enriching the context with immediately recognizable and chic notes. Once again, Zenucchi has managed to mix every environment with taste and mastery, making it perfect and vibrant, in the style of its residents, who can now spread new emotions, surrounded by the family architecture and its past history.
