A modern home with a practical and essential taste.
A modern home has recently been built amidst nature in a corner of the mid Cavallina Valley, with a practical and essential look, but not without hints of the past. The building, a three-storey detached villa, has a wonderful view of a clearing framed by tree-lined terraces that do not block out the beneficial effects offered by the sun in all seasons. The three levels, the ground floor, the second floor and the basement, have only been partially used so far because, for practical reasons, the owners wanted to use one level and set aside the rest for future development.
The elegance and linearity of oak reigns.
The collaboration between Zenucchi Design Code and the Brescian architect Paolo Bina made it possible to complete the artistic direction of the project, making this condition an interesting starting point, as well as a luxury that the customers wanted to take advantage of and benefit from, confident that an area of almost three hundred square metres – one floor plus the basement – could meet their needs. The use of natural stone alongside wood and glass for the outdoor environment offers a taste of tradition, a perception emphasised by the designs of the elevations and by some architectural and structural features such as the square stone tower, the lacquered wooden window frames and the loggia on the second floor. While the same materials are used for the interiors, here the composition of the furniture abandons classical forms, favouring a modern and essential, yet understated, style. Few elements, clear volumes and precise choices such as the use of teak parquet throughout the home and the oak wall fitted out with a home theatre system make the living spaces functional as well as elegant, while the design of the most renowned furniture companies punctuates them with powerful aesthetic signs such as the braided leather armchairs and the King model for the light chenille sofa, all by Minotti. Zenucchi chose the elegance and linearity of oak wood for the boiserie in the kitchen too, with practical barbecue, Gaggenau appliances and work block, between the wider tops, which houses the flush-fitted appliances.
