The renovation of a villa gives new life and light to the rooms
The ambitious dream of this family: to transform a villa on the outskirts of Milan into their new dream home. A complete renovation that transforms not only the interior, but also renews its external appearance, giving it a fresh and contemporary style. The needs of this family were very precise: make the most of the space and give the house a refined and classy taste. With these requests, customers turned to Zenucchi Design Code: they had already met the Zenucchi team several years before, during the furnishing of their first home. From there a relationship of trust was created, which led them back to this second challenge. The crucial point of the project is definitely the staircase, which connects the three floors of the house: the renovation has completely transformed it, creating a succession of steps and lifts entirely covered in wood, and a strip barrier in raw iron sheet that enhances the sinuosity and reduces to a minimum the encumbrances of the parapet.
A contemporary and refined taste made of wood, iron, stone and color
The real life takes place on the ground floor, where we find the living area. The Ceppo di Grè effect stoneware floor covers the entire surface, expanding to the outdoor spaces, creating a dialogue between indoor and outdoor. The room is heated by the wood of the custom-made boiserie, which wraps the central volume by integrating the fireplace and open elements made of iron, which recall the barrier of the staircase. The contemporary steel and stone kitchen is separated from the dining area by the central columns, which accommodate the appliances from the kitchen side and wine cellars at full height from the dining side: a perfect solution to optimize spaces using container elements to delineate environments. This solution is also used in the sleeping area, where the divisions are masked as boiserie and integrated with furniture, to create a design where each element becomes functional and design. The wood of the staircase expands throughout the sleeping area; here, the master bedroom becomes a real suite, with walk-in closet and private bathroom. An important renovation, which has completely renewed the appearance of the villa, completely revising also the lighting project: architectural light made of recessed spotlights, rails and wall spots creates a suggestive atmosphere, completed by expertly positioned decorative lamps that create a soft and welcoming light.
