A small paradise

You don’t need large dimensions to make good home design. All it takes is the right ideas and insights to make a home new and enhance its potential. And this amazing work by Zenucchi Design Code is interesting proof of that. A major renovation and reorganisation of the space that made it possible to make the most of the available square metres, enriching them with style and design. Some doors have been revisited to make the environment more harmonious and balanced, other spaces, such as the living area for example, have gained more space thanks to architectural choices in line with a welcoming and well-proportioned home design. The emotional centrepiece of the living area is undoubtedly the fireplace and staircase structure, an idea proposed by Zenucchi’s interior designers to suggest a special atmosphere. “The staircase was placed differently,” explains Zenucchi, “we recommended resizing it by placing it in the centre of the living area and gaining more wall space with some storage units, which are always useful in a home.

The staircase now embraces the fireplace, another important project that the customers were not initially convinced about, but later greatly appreciated”. Staircase and fireplace are a single element, almost a sculpture, since the step of the staircase is also the base for the fireplace, an element emphasised by the material chosen, a Brown Emperador marble. The artistic piece of the living area is without doubt the sofa designed by Patricia Urquiola, accompanied by the classic Le Corbusier seat. The dining and kitchen area opens up with harmonic tones and style. The Boffi kitchen has columns that accommodate the appliances and the working island. For dining, the black marble Saarinen table is accompanied by a design classic, the Panton Chair. On the ground floor there is also a service bathroom by Boffi with cement resin walls, making it even more attractive and special. But the magic is also found in the attic bedroom, the house’s suite. The Poltrona Frau round bed, protagonist of the master bedroom, is always a surprising piece of furniture. And then there is the space “pampering and relaxation”: the bathroom – always Boffi – has a beautiful tub located in the center of the room. A little paradise for sweet emotions.
