A house designed with everyday life in mind.
Designing a house with everyday life in mind is a really difficult task, especially when creativity – a fundamental element of any innovation – has to reckon with lunches and dinners to prepare, family evenings on the sofa (a good movie, popcorn included), homework and games of two little girls gone wild, school and sports, commitment and relaxation, friends with whom to share laughter and fun. This was the challenge, this was the project to be completed. “The house is brand new and the clients came to us when everything was still in the design phase, allowing us to move around and choose colours and materials. Carte blanche then for this home in which you can see the attention paid to design but that manages to coexist with the possibility of fully enjoying every space that has come to life here.
This is a brilliant home.
Here, the design work completed by Zenucchi Design Code was truly meticulous, thus allowing maximum usability of the rooms first and then incorporating the furniture. “This is the clients’ main home and would accommodate a family with three children, so the primary need was for enough space for them to live there and then, secondarily, to have guests round. It is a bright, light-coloured dwelling, a flat that receives a lot of light from outdoor – there are windows designed to offer natural light -, spaces that accommodate furnishings that are also in light tones: the white lacquered kitchen, the white leather sofa, the white living area shelving. A balanced mood. Standing out in all this whiteness is the natural wood table over which – aptly enough – a marvellous 36-bulb Bohemian chandelier hangs: a decorative piece that lights up the dining area and brightens up chatter and steaming dishes. Another important element is the magnificent showcase-staircase, grey-coloured cantilevered steps flanked by exposed stones reflected in the glass wall in front; designed so that functionality could also be beautiful to look at. And so it was. Instead, in the sleeping area, in perfect chromatic and material harmony with the rest of the house, the relaxation room in the master bedroom stands out: hydro-massage bath, shower and fireplace – bed nearby – to spend peaceful moments in a perfect atmosphere, to regenerate and enjoy everyday life.
